Great happenings...

The last few weeks have been quite hectic around here with summer time events and family gatherings. The rabbitry has been quite busy as well.

Esther had a single baby, which I wasn't expecting. I thought for sure I had felt 2 babies at least when I palpated her. I am not quite sure what gender he or she is. This little definitely is a squirmer. He or she is always jumping out of my hand when I hold him or her. This one has a very nice head so far.

I don't know what button on my phone got pushed to get that motion picture but he was so hard to photograph that I thought I would add it. :)

Roxie had her babies this morning. She had 1 jumbo that was dead and 2 others. One sport peanut and the other was a black-banded normal baby. So I think she will end up with just one baby to care for just like Esther. There was of course bruising on the jumbo like she had to struggle to get it out. The little peanut also had some bruising. Roxie's pregnancies have all been different. She even had these 1 day early, which isn't that big of a deal, but I sure like it when you can kind of predict mamas labor and such. She sure keeps me on my toes.

Only one...

Esther gave birth. She only had one though. Baby looks good. Esther fed the lil sweetheart within about an hour of giving birth. She is a good mom.

Many sports

Very excited for babies in the nestbox. I have to admit I have never had so many sports. Five from 1 mama is pretty amazing. I will be keeping one sport buck for my herd. One of my adult does has great body type but very light eyebands so hopefully that will help that issue. Here are a couple pictures of Bella with her babies. I just tipped the nestbox over today. I have peeked at the sex of these but I am not 100% sure. So all I will say is that I have at least 1 doe and 1 buck. The other 3 with show themselves soon enough. lol

Roxie's babies are doing quite well. I absolutely love these little darlings. We have 2 does and 1 buck. The bigger of the does has a spot behind her ear and the other doe is the smallest of all three. The little buck is perfectly marked and hopefully stays nice. About a week ago all their ears were bent at the very tip. They were so cute. I have never had bunnies ears do that. The have straightened out for the most part though.

Sweet babies

Just some pictures of our precious little babies. They are just 10 days old. I love the bunnies at this age. They are so sweet and love to be held. We take them out once a day if not more just to old them and check them out. Almay is due tonight and we anxiously await those babies. Hopefully she hits the nestbox. :)

Hungry, hungry mamas

My 2 mamas are scarfing down the pellets.

Bella's babies are a week old today. They are looking good. They are staying very clean and dry.

Roxie's nest box is also looking good. I did add more hay as the babies little bellies were soiled because they were laying on the bottom of the nest box. So, now they have fresh hay under them and are all tucked in again.

We finally have babies in the nestbox again! Our sweet Bella had 5 sports, which was a little sad but I did want to acquire a sport buck so I guess I'll have a few to choose from. Bella has wonderful type so I am anticipating great little sports.

Roxie had 3 black banded babies. They are wonderful looking.

I did check the sex on Bella's babies but I wasn't quite sure on them so will hold off with a report on sex.

Rabbit show

I had a great time at the Hutchinson show. I didn't bring any rabbits to show but had a very informative morning. Thank you Tonna Thomas for educating me. I can't wait to bring rabbits next time.
